What is Mesothelioma?

What is Mesothelioma?

The National Cancer Institute states that "malignant mesothelioma", is a rare form of cancer, is a disease in which cancer cells (malignant) are in a bag inside the chest (the pleura) or abdomen (the peritoneum).

What should I do if I am exposed to asbestos? What happens if I am sick?

If you have been exposed to asbestos is important to tell your doctor! Even if you do not feel sick, the fact is that people generally do not show signs or symptoms of asbestos-related disease for 10-20 years or more after exposure. A doctor may order a chest x-ray, pulmonary function tests and other screening to tell if you have any health problems due to exposure to asbestos.
If you have developed health problems from asbestos, you may have a legal claim based on the circumstances of their exposure to it. A lawyer can tell you what legal options may be available for your situation.
